Okay, I take it back. Upon further reflection I realized that two (2) unbelievable things did happen to me last week. The first is a classic Alaskan story.
Unbelievable.
Some of you are already aware of the most unthinkable thing that could happen to me. I ran out of coffee on Wednesday…as in, didn’t have a single bean. There is certainly no excuse for this but I feel like given my circumstances it’s understandable. First of all, I live on an island in Alaska; this alone makes getting anything difficult. Second, I don’t have a car so leaving Coffman Cove can be difficult unless I’m traveling with the school. Long-story-short, I thought I was going to have an opportunity to get to a store for about a week now, but for whatever reasons it didn’t happen and then suddenly you find yourself without any coffee. At the store I have access to Raven’s Brew. It’s alright, it’s roasted in Ketchikan, so it’s local, I can buy it whole bean, it has caffeine in it, no problem. Any who I didn’t make it to town to buy coffee at the store so I was forced to go into our local bodega and purchase, sit down for this……..Folgers. I know right? I literally cried walking home. The shit show ended on Thursday when I went to Thorne Bay for the Middle School basket ball game and of course went to the grocery store.
Okay, here’s to another eventful week in beautiful Southeast Alaska.
Cheers to that! I'm so excited to see you at Christmas Ebs! I'm sorry I haven't been able to send you any care packages. I need to get a damn letter in the mail.
