Lesson planning and stuff.....

Abandoned vehicle

Man, just last week I was thinking about renaming this blog, "The unbelievable event that happened to me this week," and this week....I don't know if I'm just getting used to the ridiculousness that is கோப்ப்மன் கோவே, Alaska or if I really had a boring week, but I can truly say that nothing ridiculous happened to me this week.

That brings us to a grand total of 9 students. Watch out! Thank goodness count is over or we would be in some serious hot water. The revolving door of students makes lesson planning difficult but the hardest part is the emotional attachment. I'm hoping for some consistency, at least until Christmas.

Other happs: Day Light Savings ending = Bull Shit! Now I get to walk TO and FROM school in the dark. Yeah, that's right, I'm outraged by the time change.

Oh yeah, I'M COMING HOME next month. Start drinking water now.

This Friday is Veteran's Day, being the social studies teacher I know I should probably teach a lesson about it. The thing is, I really don't like idolizing soldiers or wars for that matter. I think that I'm going to take this opportunity teach the concept and value of PEACE. What do you think? வதோ வில் பே தி பிரஸ்ட் பெர்சன் டு கால் தி சுபெரிண்டேண்டேன்ட் ஓவர் திஸ் ஓனே??

It seems that everybody is writing gratuity lists these days, I guess because Thanksgiving is approaching or whatever, so here is one thing that I'm really grateful for:

My job. It's really hard, I mean like, I can't find words for it, but I am learning so much and am so GRATEFUL to be living in Southeast Alaska where it's still raining and the temperatures are hanging out above freezing.

PIC: I can't remember if I already posted this, but this is an abandoned vehicle on the road in வ்ஹலே பாஸ்.

Don't forget to KEEP THE PROMISES you make to yourself. You're all you got!

PEACE

  1. I just read your second to last line, "don't forget...." Can we change it to, "You're all you got! Well, other than your mother!"
