Lake Powell, Utah

I spent the whole day swimming in Lake Powell. The water temperature was perfect! Tonight I'm staying at Easton's Ranch in Utah. As tour leaders we received a free steak dinner, free horse rides, and FREE Internet access. Tomorrow, we are off to Monument Valley in Arizona. PIC: Horseshoe Bend, UT

Zion National Park

We drove from L.A all the way to Zion National Park, Utah, yesterday. It's about an 8 hour drive. Totally worth it! Today we woke up at 5am and did the Angel's Landing hike. I've got tons of photos to share once I have the technology. Tomorrow we leave for Lake Powell. Having lots of fun. Peace!! Also, it like 115 degrees here. I can't believe people live here voluntarily. NEW: PICTURE FROM ANGEL'S LANDING HIKE in Zion.

Finally! I have some information about what I'm doing. I arrived at the Hacienda Hotel on Sunday, July 8 after a wonderful weekend with Alena and her husband Peter. We had lots of fun in L.A. that included a day at the beach and several nights of partying. On Monday, I woke up with a bad episode of food poisoning which I foolishly mistook for anxiety about my new job. I still can't eat anything and am feeling rather tired and worn-down. No worries, I think that the worst is over. Yesterday was spent at the California DMV, which is arguably one of the worst places in the entire world. I emerged triumphant, however and walked away with a permit for a commercial driver's license! The next couple of days are orientation and on Friday we set out for our first adventure. For our training trip we are going on the "Western Wonder" which includes visiting Big Sur, San Francisco, Yosemite, the Sierra's, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Grand Canyon NP, Las Vegas, San Diego and THANK GOD we return to L.A., the most disgusting place on the planet.

I know when I read blogs I am always way more interested in pictures than text so I'm trying to get the wireless Internet on my computer working so that I can upload some photos. PEACE!

Made it to L.A.

I had safe travels yesterday on my way to L.A. Mom and Richard got me to the airport three hours early. It only took three minutes to check my bags and five minutes to go through security. Apparently the NSA is not on my to my terrorists ways yet. And I can say that because I'm not taking a plane any time soon (catch me if you can). Anyways, Peter and Alenka picked me up and fed me a beautiful dinner. After dinner we went to a bar called the Edison where they can make a stiff drink and then we went dancing at some club that I forgot the name of. It was kind of weird because everyone was dressed like they just stepped out of the 80's but they were dancing to modern music. Alenka definitely knows how to shake it. Today my only goal is to drink coffee and read the newspaper. I'll let everyone know how that goes. I'm going to try to upload some picture soon because I promised some people I would make them famous on my blog. Stay tuned!
